Grant Harvey, AMHSW, BSW, DipNeuroscience

I have provided a holistic approach to my practice for individuals, families and groups, who have needed support for their mental health and wellbeing for over twenty years. Using evidence-based frameworks, I work in partnership with the client towards identified goals and helping them make the changes they are wanting to see in their mind, life, relationships and workplace.

I specialise in working with men, couples, and teenage guys, around issues including emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma, PTSD, grief, relationships, suicidality and mental health concerns.

I have previously worked in the education system for seven years with students, families, teachers and support staff, and have worked with a wide range of professionals around workplace issues, decision making processing and communication skills.

I have written and facilitated several successful group work programs for young people in schools, throughout Victoria, NSW and Queensland.

I have a relaxed, calm presence and gently welcoming style, allowing people to feel comfortable straight away, and I explain things in simple ways that are easy to understand and start using.

And on a personal note, I have been married since 2002, have 4 young adult children, and have a range of personal experiences within myself and my close family and friends, of coping with trauma, change, stress, mental health challenges and grief, so also draw upon my knowledge as a husband, dad, son, brother and friend.

I go to the beach most days, love a good coffee or locally brewed beer, am vegetarian and live a low-tox, active lifestyle, and still play competitive basketball, even as an over-50 year old!
